Fortis is a reputable international financial service provider in the area of insurances and banking. Fortis offers a wide range of financial products and services to private, professional and corporate investors.

The situation
For certain units Fortis wanted quick access to the most current and in-depth information of shares and investment funds. Therefore, at the beginning of 2007 vwd group introduced its newest product to Fortis: Memento der Effecten online (Online memento of securities)

The solution
The book, Memento der Effecten has been the bible of the financial market for decades. Private and professional investors alike use this guidebook to find all necessary information regarding shares and investment funds.

Because the printed version provides only a snapshot of the information, vwd group decided to develop an online application. The application was shown to Fortis, who were immediately enthusiastic about it.

The implementation
Because it is an online application the information can be consulted from any system. Based on the number of demanded licenses, unique usernames and passwords were produced. By the end of May 2007, Fortis received a database containing these access codes in combination with a URL referring to the online application that they distributed amongst their staff.

The benefits
Basically, the online version provides Fortis with a new Memento der Effecten every day. All changes that are carried out by vwd group at the database level are immediately diverted to Memento Online. Fortis users, regardless of their whereabouts, can consult the most up-to-date information. Their codes grant them access to the practical and user-friendly information regarding shares and investment funds.
